Education Program

The Boys State education program consists of daily classes and tests on material covered. Also, there are  government simulations to practice what is learned in the classroom. A final exam closes the program. Oklahoma Boys State provides up to three hours of college credit based on classroom and test performance. Information about the college credit is included in the delegate packet.

The Boys State textbook is provided to each delegate and is used as the foundation for all classes and tests. It is an excellent book and is used by some colleges for their State and Local Government classes. Instructors include public school teachers and administrators, college students majoring in political science, and government officials.

College credit is available for those who attend and successfully complete the Boys State program. The credit is granted by Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College for either two or three college hours. Those who select the two hours credit must successfully complete the program including meeting the score requirements on the class quizzes and the final exam.

Those who seek three hours of credit must also successfully complete the program including meeting the score requirements on class quizzes and the final exam plus must satisfactorily complete and submit a research paper following the session.
