Delegates:

Many of you have indicated you would like to work on the Boys State Newspaper or Web Staff or serve as a photographer. Frankly, we have many more requests than we can use. So, if you are really interested in serving in one of these positions, please send your resume' to me and I will pass it on to those in charge. You'll also have a chance to interview for a position when you amve. Be sure to include the level and kinds of experiences you've had working in one or more of these positions at your school or otherwise.

Did you know you are welcome to visit Boys State? We are pleased to

welcome visitors to our program. Of course, we can't disrupt the program to accommodate visitors, but you are welcome to observe Oklahoma Boys State. Probably the best time to visit is at the evening assemblies which begin about 7:30 and conclude about 9:30. The very best evenings to visit are the Thursday night Talent Show and the Friday night Memorial Service. Unfortunately we have no facilities for feeding or housing guests but Miami has many fine places to eat and stay. Because of the number of delegates, seating is limited, but we will try to accommodate as many guests as we can.

Delegates:

State Superintendent of Schools Sandi Garrett is a great supporter of the Boys

State program and will send a letter to each school superintendent in Oklahoma encouraging them to likewise be supportive. If Boys State happens to fall during the end of your school year, she will request that superintendents make special arrangements for you to attend.

Remember that Boys State delegates may seek up to three hours of college credit for their participation in the program. More information about this opportunity will be mailed directly to the delegate from NEO A&M C.ollege. Please note that these college hours will be among the least expensive and most convenient you'll ever get. Every year we have people needing a few hours to complete their program who call asking to pick up the hours they missed. Tbe hours are NOT available after Boys State. The three hour college credit may also qualify to meet your high school district's government requirement.
